Bascially I have 3 leds that come on telling me the RAM is detected and the CPU and the VGa. my problem is that I get a continuous beep every 5 or so secounds. Just one and its not very long either. What can it be? The manual says nothing about beeps :( Also how exactly do I clear the CMOS? Iv never done that before

If you have access go to the DFI website & check the manual there, it's a complete version with info on beep codes.

If you're running only 1 stick of RAM, put it in slot 2(the orange slot furthest away from the CPU).
Lemme guess, the RAM you have is a double sided module?
Also, update to the latest bios.

k Ill try that when I get home. And yes its a doulbe sided 512mb DDR500 stick.

also cant update BIOS as I havent been able to see anything on he screen yet. The beeps could be telling me its a video card problem.

sides I have a REVA02 so I shouldnt have to anyway ;)

Borrow a pci-e video card to see if that is the cause of your problems.

I'm not sure if this is it, but i'll take a shot at it. So when you put down those things into your case that allow the motherboard to get screwed in, (the washer like things you screw into the case) i forget what they are called, hopefully you know what i'm talking about, be sure you didnt put too many. One time i put too many in, and i got a similar beeping error (with another mobo) because the extra screw was shorting out the motherboard. So if its not your video card, ram, or anything else, i'd try that.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm also running a PCI Riva TnT on the DFI NF4 LanParty. :)
I'm waiting for the price of the X800XL to drop to a reasonable level. Right now the price of the X800XL as well as other PCI-X cards is just ridiculous. Anywho, I ran into the exact same problem as you did when I first got my board. I was about to RMA the board because it wont post on any other slot besides slot #2. Then I found out that the DFI is very particular about the memory. The new BIOS "suppose" to fix that.

Change the boot order in bios. Delete the removeable device if you don't have a floppy.
Make sure the first boot device is your CD, put in the Windows disc and your off to the races
