Hi All,

I am in need of a heatsink for my workstation board, an ASUS Z8PE-D18. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-379-_-Product

Specifically, I have had a hard time finding a heatsink for CPU2. The intel stock LGA1366 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-002-_-Product) fan fits, but is WAY TOO LOUD!!! I mean LOUD, like you can hear it form another room!

I have tried a Artic Cooler Freezer pro7 rev2, as well as a ZALMAN CNPS10X Extreme. Neither of them fit: the mounting plate does not fit around the capacitors near the socket..

I am willing to do anything.. Asus has no recommendation.. Anybody have an idea?

Thats a very compact HSF. I think you may struggle to get something smaller or equivalent in footprint.

I noted from the MB layout that space is very compact around the two CPU sockets - are you using the RAM slots nearest the sockets? Any restrictions on height? Are you O/Cing the CPUs. i.e. do just need something of equal cooling performance, but quieter to the two HSFs you already have?

Is there any way to change the fan on the HSF - looking at the photo it looks as if the fan has a moulded shroud and mounting flanges.
