I have a AMD 1200 MHZ on a 266 Mhz bus. I have it clocked to 1266 mHz but it is hot 50-54 deg. C If I put it up to 1333 mHz it only goes up a couple degrees, it is stable but I don't want to fry it. It is one of those combo dealies and has a normal AMD heatsink. I was wonder what is a good one to get for around $30. I seen some that run from aorun 34 deg to 40 deg. Just some input would be nice.

I'd recommenf the Thermaltake Dragon Orb3. I've got one on my 1.2GHz Celery running at 1.8GHz (12x150 fsb) and I'm hitting 38C full load. This cooler is for Duron, Athlon and PentiumIII/Celeron. Just make sure you get the 7,000 rpm one as there's a 4,500 rpm on, too. It's so powerful that you just cant plug it into a fan slot. You have to connect it to the power supply.

Evercool ND-8, super cheap ~$10, fairly quiet and small. Look at nexfan.com for it.....
Thermalright SK-6 with a quieter YS Tech or Sunon fan, the Delta38 is very loud and whiny, I hated it....
Thermaltake Volcano7 has an 80mm fan, is quiet but is HUGE!! Make sure it will fit beforehand........
I have used all these on my Athlon XP 1600+ with decent results. Any combo never higher than 51C max load running seti and gaming. Currently using the SK-6 copper heatsink with the 32cfm fan from the Evercool, working good, 43-47C full load. And its MUCH quieter than the Delta38 and cools almost as well.....
Glad you are not having trouble at your current temps. Some mobo's display temp higher than it actually is so YMMV, but cooler is always better!!

Bull.... Higher than actual what temp? Higher than backside temp, sure? but higher than DIE temp?. No. Even the vaunted high reading Asus boards read lower than die temp.

I second the SK-6. However, I replaced the delta fan with a 80mm Panaflo. It does a great job and my XP1800+ is at 42-44C under full load.

Just cleaned all the dust out. Booted 39 deg C. then it went to 40 and now 41. Now 42 its going up ahhh, still 10 deg cooler than before. The side is off though :(
