need copy of Diablo2 CDs

I bought this from Amazon but have been unable to install it after many attempts.
I even sent the CDs back to Blizzard, but the replacements (maybe they just gave me
the same CDs back) didn't work. I have no problems with any other CDs and even
installed the original Diablo which came with Diablo2 with no problems of any kind.
If some one can help me in any way, I would
greatly appreciate it. I would be willing to pay for the effort.
BTW, i have a cable modem. And, if anyone
has any other suggestions, that would be great too. I am going to look elsewhere
but I doubt I will have much luck.🙁

Asking for help with your warez has earned you a week elsewhere.

well, he's not asking for the install code. And they aren't exactly easy to come by since you need a unique one for battle.net.

He is still asking for ISOs though!

DaveC: Have you tried the discs in another drive?

DaveC, like Mitzi said, have you determined that your drive isn't the issue here? BTW, asking for ISO's is against AT forum rules, you should either edit your post, or most likely it will be locked.

Try to install on a different system.

If that works, it is your hardware.

If that does not work, contact the Diablo tech support.
If you send the disks back, make a mark on them, so you can tell if they are returned to you.

Don't lock this thread Mod. I understand where he's coming from. It's the SafeDisc2 crap that's hosing this guy. I bought a new drive just to play the expansion, and even then, they patched the game and made it incompatible with RAID motherboards. By the time the next patch came out, my accounts expired and I lost all my characters. Blizzard, while I love the guys, have a lot to answer for. I doubt safedisc2 is stopping all the pirates in asia, so why take it out on us?

As richleader has indicated, this is a documentated problem with the copyright protection used on the D2 discs. Some cdroms (like those from Kenwood, Delta, etc.) have problems with it. There's no real way around this unless you have another CDROM. I'm assuming the CDROM won't even let you copy the install files into a temp directory and allow you to install the game from there.

First, where are the forum rules posted? I've found everything else: help on fusetalk, AT faq, AT forum faq.
But, I couldn't find anything that actually listed the rules. I probably didn't look hard enough. A link
would be appreciated. I definitely don't want to get banned...just found hot deals forum rules. Nothing
shown in this section and that one doesn't mention you know what.

Second, you can't install the game without the key. You are legally allowed to make and have copies if you have purchase and use
the software according to the license. I have purchased it, so I am not trying to rip any one off. I figured since I had a
legal right to the software, asking for those "things" would be ok.

Also, I have tried it in another computer(different hardware) and got the same thing.
It's not either computer, it is the discs. I installed and played the original diablo that came with it too.😱

If your CD can't read these discs, it couldn't burn a proper ISO of them anyway. Nor would any other discs made anywhere else, legit or not.

Do both computers have the same CDRom? You really should try it in different CDRoms from different manufactures before you go trying to get ISO's, which are just going to give you the same problem.

Another option is to go to EB and buy the game again. Try it with those CDs and see if it works. If it doesn't, you should be able to return it (check on that first), as they used to have a pretty liberal return policy. Most stores won't let you return opened software, I've heard EB will (although with piracy on the rise, they probably have changed that).

I *really* doubt Blizzard sent you back your CDs. Once they've got them out of your mailer, they might as well just put a new copy in there to save them the trouble of you returning them again.
