2002 Saab 9-3 Viggen.

I'm 6'7" and none of those cars you tried fit me either. Legroom is decent but not large-though I don't feel cramped.

You can find a low milage V for $18000.

Although I think the new ones are awesome, the only reason I am no longer interested in them is because of the very bad reliability from VW.

If you like the big rear-wheel drive setup of a Towncar, you could consider a Mercury Grand Marquis/Ford LTD although keep in mind that they won't hold up as well long-term because the Towncars primary purpose in life is a commercial livery vehicle so its built quite a bit tougher... more like a truck in many ways.
The argument against either of these choices (or a full-size SUV) is that we have no idea where gas prices will be in a few years so you could easily find yourself in a situation where $5-$6 a gallon gas makes the cost of covering the milage you'll need to do insanely expensive.

I really like the looks of that car, but unfortunately after the experiences with this Bronco, I dont think I could ever go back to a 2 door vehicle again x_x

Thank you though, for the suggestion.

I definitely agree. I tried the Grand Marquis and found it almost exactly like the Towncar... Just not as... plushy :p However, long term life is what I need and while our old towncar lasted 15 years im afraid its sister cars might not last so long.. I dont need it to last 15 years, but I definitely dont need problems with it after only 2-3 years.

A crew cab F150 (or similar truck) would be nice and roomy and also very useful while in college

If you want a car then a chrysler 300, ford 500, chevy impala type car would work for you

Dad explicitly says no to pickup trucks. And since he partly owns the money, I have to respect his decision (Besides the only thing I really get in cargo is groceries). But the car choices are all added! :D

I would buy the Lincoln Towncar. You can buy a nice used Towncar with low miles for around $15k. Engine in those Towncar will run forever.

You're welcome. There is a 5 door version of the same car-it get's 30mpg and it's damn fast.

Looks the same as the pic except it has 2 more doors *S*.

Gas prices are only going to RISE-check out peakoil.com

I won't buy anything that doesn't get at least 30mpg.

These expenisve used cars are gonna be expensive to maintain.. even the most reliable cars in the world
will need repairs and a Saab is probably one of the last vehicles I'd want to see the mechanics bill on.

I'd either get a cheaper used car or at least a more common brand like honda or toyota, or just get somethin
new with a good warranty.

A car doesnt need to cost 22 grand to last 6 years.. my parents bought an 88 (88!) volvo 740 10 years ago for
7k and I now drive it today with no problems and 250k.. even the stock turbo still spools. Tires are the most
expensive thing to put on it.. 450 a set :(

Just check around for good years on various models and try to find a deal on one.

You don't need to worry about how long a crown vic/marque will hold up. Think dude just miss worded things a bit. They are about the most reliable car you can get.

Also, when you say it has to do well for you for 6 years, are you factoring in maintenence and upkeep? They will all require oil changes, brake pads/rotors, etc. Depending on how many miles you drive it, new tires sometime during that as well.

I don't want to burst your excitement, but do take a look at slightly older cars and see if you can keep a decent bit of money aside for fixing things as they are needed.

Chrylser 300
Dodge Charger
Dodge Magnum
Go with the 3.5L V6 aand 1yr old can easily be had for $22K used. All 3 above are essentially the same car.

Chevrolet Impala
Buick Lacrosse
Pontiac Grand Prix
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Mercury Mountaineer

Since you are tall I would avoid imports and stick to American brands.

Avoid the Trailblazer. Horrible reliability, awesome engine though!

The Fusion/MKZ/Milan are on a stretched version of the Mazda6 platform. The Ford versions have more interior room, which is apparently high on the OP's priority list.

You should be able to get an 00-05 Deville or 00-04 Seville for that kind of money. They should fit the bill.
