Im thinking of spending some of my hard earned money I made this summer so I picked out some components for a new system. I already have a video card (Ti4200) but this is everything else I have picked out. Im also planning to overclock the P4 so please comment on my choices of Mobo, CPU and memory. I will also be using the system mainly for gaming.

Antec Performance LUS1080AMG
2X Sunon 80mm case fans in addition to the 3 that come with the case
P4 1.8A
ASUS P4S533
Samsung 512m PC2700 (Better then 2 sticks of 256 correct?)
LITEON 40X12X48
LG 52X cd-rom
HERCULES GAME THEATER XP 6.1
WD 40 gig
2 X WD 80gig
PROMISE FASTTRAK TX2000
1.44 Panasonic

I think thats all. Anyways let me know if theres anything I should change.

i would get a 400w psu. and no generic brand either.

Definitely get a bigger p/s, and why not get a fast DVD drive instead of the cd/rom. They are pretty cheap and with the hercules card you'll be able to watch DVD's in 5.1 surround!

I'd get at least a 400-watt PS and bump up to a Northwood P4 that can take advantage of the 533 mhz FSB that your motherboard offers.

Dont really need a DVD-rom as I watch all my dvds on my home theater setup.

I really like Antec's Tru series of power supplies. However, that does not mean the PSU you are getting is of low quality. Antec makes excellent power supplies wether it be from their Tru series or not. You have a pretty good setup there. However, I would suggest a different sound card unless you really need all the connection that come with the Game Theatre. I have a Philips Acoustic Edge and highly recommend it, especially since your system is being used primarily for gaming and the AE outputs excellent positional audio. Good choice on the stand-alone IDE RAID controller, the ones integrated in motherboards often leave a lot to be desired. For overclocking one stick of 512MB is better than two sticks of 512MB. The only disadvantage is that you cannot enable 4-way interleaving with only on bank filled. This will decrease performance. I personally like 4-way interleaving and chose to go that route and still overclock. It looks like you will have lots of fun overclocking with that system. Just make sure you get a good Heatsink/Fan combination.

I see, thanks for the input. As for the soundcard I can not find anywhere that carrys the Phillips in Canada but I will look around. As for overclocking the P4 what heatsink/fan combo is good?
