but i dont know what books are good to study off of. went to my local barnes and nobles and they barely had a selection. any recommendations?

plus, which one should i take (im working toward my mcse 2k)? citrix metaframe 1.8, or citrix metaframe xp 1.0? 1.8 runs on 2k server?

I had no prior experience with any Citrix products, and I used the Citrix CCA MetaFrame 1.8 for Windows Exam Cram book. This is the only book I used, and I got 38/40 correct on the test last month. I do have a lot of NT 4.0 experience, but the test really didn't cover much of the NT side of it, and the exam cram book covered all you need to know about that.

You can get a copy from Half.com for around $18-19 before shipping, and I believe there are some $5 off coupons floating around.

I have the voucher too and downloaded a study guide from brainbuzz.com but haven't really touched it yet. Hard to motivate yourself to study for a test during the summer...plus I have 3 other courses going on right now in college, plus full time job. Grrr.

They ask a lot of questions about what utility you would use to perform a certain task, system requirements for Citrix, etc. If you go over that exam cram book, it will pretty much show you everything you need to know. It is only around 200 pages, and that includes the after-chapter tests and the final test at the end. The final test is over 100 questions, but it explains why each answer is right or wrong.

I only spent about an hour a day for a week and was able to cover the book thoroughly. I would suggest about 2 weeks with the material, and then just go take the test. I actually over-prepared for it...

I took the Metaframe 2k test a little while back, failed by one question!:| Anyone got a voucher they aren't gonna use?;) It just asked about the product, like what do you use to do this, what are the features of the product, nothing really scernario like.

just signed up to take on the 9th of august.. thanks for the recommendations.. will give the brainbuzz study guide and exam cram a look see.. :)

and to anyone else that has a voucher, i just noticed this while looking on the back of it for the terms. all you need to do is use the voucher before august 30th.. you'll be able to defer the test appointment for one year.

You must register for an exam prior to the expiration date printed on this voucher. Voucher expiration dates cannot be extended. Your actual testing appointment may be deferred for up to one year after registration.

edit: hmm. just decided to switch my exam and take the citrix metaframe xp 1.0 exam (1Y0-220). gonna give them a call tomorrow morning.. :)

I sure am glad I read this thread. This voucher has been sitting on my desk at work for several months now just starring me in the face also. I'd never even heard of Citrix. So yesterday I registered to take this exam on 8/23. :)

I've downloaded numerous study guides for the 218 exam but have yet to find any braindumps. I've found braindumps for the 220 exam but they were dated 2000 and back. Do Citrix exams ever change? I would think these would change a little more frequent than that.

Anyway, if any of you know of any braindumps for exam 218, please email me at mycomputing@hotmail.com.

i was reading on Cramsession (that also has a study guide for 218 but not one for the metaframe xp 1.0 :( ) and alot of people recommending going to Citrixxperience.com. they have a 218 study guide as well as some practice questions/with answers. not exactly braindumps but something to study off of.. now all i need to find is a good study guide for the 220 test.. :)

lol. OMG is that what i have to look forward too? i know it's a pass/fail test (no score given), but it can't be that bad.. 70-216 is another test ive been putting off for awhile.. should have taken it when everything was fresh in my memory.. now i have to brush up on the material.

any good advice on preparing for the 70-216 test phatcow? thanks :)

honestly, if you cramsession or braindump every test, DONT do it with this one....

the wording throws you ALL off.... I used the Cybex and ExamPrep books to study for this one..... this one you GOTTA know your material... not just the answers...

thats pretty much the tips that ive used for this one...

mucho luck on it when you take it....

but the senarios... SENARIOS are scary......

hey there.. :)

thanks for the advice phatcow.. i'm not a fan of braindumps (have nothing against them). basically used the MOC, Sybex study guides, and the Microsoft Readiness Reviews to prepare for the 70-210/70-215. definately going to check out the examprep book for 70-216. :)
