Need cheap RAID 1 Laptop for Business only

I'm looking into my second laptop for business purposes only. I just need something under $1500 that can do RAID 1 to protect client data. I could care less about screen size... rez... ram... hard drive... video... I can always install my own Ram / HD's if need be.

Pre-built... Barebones... I dont care. The only thing I've come across that seems to fit what I'm looking for is the Toshiba M5-S433.

I read this article from PCMAG.com that say's it can do it but I cant verify anywhere on the web if it's true. I downloaded the manual of their website and doesnt mention RAID 0 or 1. Calling Toshiba customer service about this "technical" question has been frustrating at best and I dont think I would trust the answer they gave me anyways...

Here's a quote from PcMag:
Toshiba Tecra M5-S433:
The dual-layer DVD±RW optical drive is modular, so you can swap it out for an extra 80GB hard drive. You can also configure the two hard drives in a RAID 1 array by simply activating RAID in the BIOS.

Does anyone know of any other laptop that can do this on the cheap? Thanks

The words client and data and cheap don't go well together, what do you plan on using this monster for?

Just need RAID 1 to enter Quickbooks info when I go to a client's house. If the main hard drive goes bad... I have the RAID 1 backup.

I dont see the need to spend $3000+ to do that.... or be forced to get 512mb 7900gtx video just because I want to do RAID 1. I'm figuring someone has to make a barebones or prebuilt that can do RAID 1 for $1500 or under.

If I were you, I would get a laptop and an external FireWire or SATA RAID array. Bulky, but cheaper than the alternative.

You may be able to find a HDD adapter for many laptops with modular drives. IIRC, many older Powerbooks had this as an option.

Exactly my practice. I carry a shirt-pocket size external Firewire drive for backup data storage. RAID1 gives you redundancy but not really a true backup. Any corruption on Drive 0 will be mirrored on Drive 1.

One thing to think of would be sending the data offsite via website maybe FTP of some sort, instead of a raid aray......
