Need cheap inkjet cartridges for Canon Pixma IP1500. Recommendations?

I need to do a decent amount of printing on a Canon Pixma 1500 (school notes and the like) and it seemed to chew through the default cartridges amazingly fast. As a result I want some cheap but good quality cartridges. It would be cool if they could also be good for photos as I have photo paper but not a necessity.

I've heard various recommendations about generic cartridges and was wondering if fellow AT'ers have any suggestions. Thanks! 🙂

in my place
there are two brands called "GTI200" and "p-max" seem good choices
don't know if they are available in your place

I buy my Canon compatible ink tanks from USAInkjet on eBay - you can get it direct from their web site (http://www.tyler-martin.com) but it costs more that way. Don't ask me why.
. I got six of each (6xBCI-24b and 6xBCI-24c) for around $24. shipped when I had my i450 which uses those tanks. And I get a set of 4 tanks for my new iP3000 for $12. shipped. Mine is just getting near to the bottom of some of the OEM tanks and I got it sometime arond the end of September (I think). So I'll get to try some of that USA ink in it soon. That ink worked really well in the i450.
. There are tons of threads on generic ink tanks in this and the Gen. Hardware sections. A little searching would turn them up...
