Need CDRW Recommendation with Burn Proof Technology

I am building a new computer and am looking for a quality CDRW that comes with Burn Proof Technology. I keep hearing about Plextor. Is this the top of the line?. Does it come with Burn Proof Technology?. I am looking for a IDE CDRW. If Plextor is the best, can somebody give me a model number? I don't mind spending the money for quality. Thanks!

I also recommend buying the TDK 12x/10x/32x for $180 (after rebate) which is identical to the Plextor 12x/10x/32x but A LOT cheaper. Also the TDK does have "Burn Proof Technology" except for they call it "FailSafe".

Here's a great indepth review of the TDK.

Hey if anyone reading this knows the e-mail program PINE can you please read this thread and see if you can answer my questions? Thank you!

I just got the TDK and I HIGHLY recomend it.
I can do anything I want while burning cds, I dont even have to think about it.
The word love can not describe my feelings for this drive, were going out on our third date tonight too. 😉

I have the TDK too. So far so good. The thing sreams through burns. 80min CD in 7 minutes. The TDK and the Plextor can both be had for around the same money if you shop around. Since they are the same drives, the only other consideration is the software package. TDK comes with Nero 5 and Plextor with EZCD 4 standard. For me, it is nice to finally own a legit copy of Nero.

I would definitely recommend plextor. It's probably the best IDE CDR. That means I would also say the TDK Velco. TDK=Plextor.
