HELP!

I just got a new kitten and from my knowlegde it didnt eat the first night with us and hasnt eaten all day today! It keeps crying and looks at the cat food but skips it and goes to the water! The poor thing has to be hungry but wont eat the food. The kitten is about 6 or 7 weeks old. Thanks for any help. We warmed up some milk and put that in a bowl she has no problem with that...but I dont want the cute little thing to starve on me 🙁

Aww.

Are you trying to give her dry food?

Try making a mash, take the dry food and add water to it, then heat it in the microwave. Let cool and mush it all together so she can lap it up. Just make sure it's not too hot.

If you're feeding her wet food, you may want to add a bit more water to make it almost soupy and heat it slightly.

cats like milk, but it gives them the runs. You can give it some canned tuna and it will eat for sure, but be careful because it may not like much else after that. They get the "taste of the good life" and they get picky sometimes.

Tuna's good as a treat, but remember, it's not a good idea to give kitty tuna on a regular basis. It doesn't meet nutritional needs.

I'm glad she's eating now. 🙂
