I recently got a cooler master wavemaster, but because of its crappy intake it causes my crossfire set up to overheat and artifact. I need a case with Very good air flow but yet still Very quiet, i'm not interested in a case with a bunch of lights and a window-nice and neat looking. Right now i'm looking at the Antec P180

Any Thoughts?

Thx

I love the P180...when the fans are all set to low and you have your HSF on the CPU on idle until it needs to spin up it's like the PC isn't on.

While I love my P180, I can see why some people don't like the case...

Now is a great time to pick one up from newegg: $108 shipped

You should have pretty good cooling with the Freezer Pro and Accelero 's. I've got a pic of my P180 setup in my sig:)

are those fans included with the p180 or did you replace the mfg's fans for your aftermarket preferences?

I just got one from the local computer expo. I was hoping they would have the e6600 but they didn't get it yet.

I saw the P180 and just had to get it. It's just sitting on the side waiting for parts.

sorry, i was asking you... thanks for the info... you mentioned the Freezer Pro and Accelero's as specific makes of fans, i was wondering if you replaced your factory installed p180 fans with these makers?

the fans it comes with are good really...they're speed adjustable if you want performance or silence.

Aactually these were brand names of coolers that the o.p. has installed in his current setup...

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro Very good price/performance and is pretty quiet too

ARCTIC COOLING Accelero X2 Aftermarket video card cooler

I removed the stock fans that came with the case and replaced them with Cooler Master Silent Quad LED - Blue TLF-S12-EB I run them on a Zalman fan controler and they are pretty quiet. I just ordered 4 YATE LOON 120mm Case Fan - D12SL-12 Orange and I'm going to try those out to see wich I like better.

this is my current setup:
DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert (BIOS 12/07/2005)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester @260x10 (Thermalright SI-120 & CoolerMaster TLF-S12-EB)
2x1GB OCZ EB DDR PC-4000 Dual Channel Platinum @3-3-2-7 1:1
eVGA 256-P2-N515-AX GeForce 7800 GT @ 496/1201 (Zalman VF-900)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KS 320GB
NEC ND-3550A Dual Layer DVD±RW Writer
Sony DDU-1615 DVD-ROM
Cooler Master Real Power 550W
Zalman ZM-MFC1 Fan Controller
Antec P180 Case
Windows XP Pro SP2

The side panels expand/contract due to changes in temp but I have never seen mine do that... Maybe PM Antec CSR about a replacement.

You know what? Don't even think about the P180. As nice as it would be if Antec's QC was better, the P180 I've had has been nothing but trouble from the start. Let me go through the list of problem I've had to go through with this case:

*The front door didn't close right and bulged out. To date, I've gone through SIX front doors, and none of them close properly and/or bulge. This includes the newer revisions of the doors!
*The layers of the side panels started coming apart. I've had to ask for several pairs of replacement panels, and my current pair of panels are starting to come apart as well.
*After I gently nudged the spoiler into place, the plastic hooks snapped and I had to ask for a replacement.
*The top screw hole on the rear left panel is drilled too high - just enough so that screwing something in it is a royal pain

To Antec's credit, their CS has been extremely prompt and considerate. However, every time I've asked for a replacement part it takes at least a week - many times more than a week - for the slooow UPS shipping to arrive - and the past two Aluminum revision front doors I've requested have both arrived with the doors warped and unable to close out of the box. The most recent one wouldn't even fit on the case no matter how I struggled to get it on. The one before it arrived with both of the door magnets almost totally unglued right out of the box.

I hate this case. If I could sell it and buy something else comparable I would - but I wouldn't feel honest selling it to someone as it is. I spent hours cabling in it and it keeps falling apart so frequently that I never just get to enjoy using it. For as many problems as I've had with it they should send me a working replacement black front bezel and side panels so I could have a P180b (but that'll never happen). I'm kind of just losing the will to keep asking them for replacement parts since I basically already know what I'll get.

Just save yourself some trouble and go with a manufacturer with a better track record. I hear Lian-Li is pretty nice.
