Need car suggestions

My friend will probably be buying a car soon.

He will be coming from a 2005 Civic VP.

He wants something reasonably quick, so 180hp+ is a must.

The newer the better. 2004+ preferred. His price range at this point is UP to $15000.

He does not want a high maintenance car so Japanese cars are preferred due to his perception on reliability.

My suggestions were Legacy GT, RX-8, Saab 9-3, Audi A4, RSX, Mazda 6, BMW 3er...

Bring on the suggestions, thanks. 🙂

If maintenance is a concern I would scrap almost all your suggestions

Oh i know, and he did... that is just the list of cars i would consider in his position, that is why I am asking other people's opinions.

The legacy and rsx should be fairly reliable. I love my legacy. Theres no substitute for AWD to have fun in the rain/snow and those trips up to tahoe.

What does he have against the legacy anyway, and why trade in a perfectly good 2005 civic? He can get a wrx if he's more boy racer, but I like the extra space in the legacy and its better interior.

EDIT: S2000? Tell him to keep the civic as a daily driver and move on up to a .6 liter monster that does 0-60 in 3-4 seconds.

His mother will taking his car and he will be getting something new.

Actually the Legacy is on the top of his list, but he does want to consider other options.

5.5 = 0-60
14.2 = 1/4
