I remember a thread a while back saying that the Solstice was selling for several thousand about MSRP because of its popularity. If you do find it at retail though, I think you can get one loaded out at $24k. And if you like the Solstice, check out the new MX-5 (3rd gen Miata) too.

If you need something a little more practical (a.k.a. more room, back seats, better gas mileage), I'd go for the Mazda3 hatch/sedan or Civic coupe/sedan, depending on your tastes. With a few options added, should be $19k-20k.

Edit: I'd agree with the others here that it doesn't really sound like you need a new car and you're probably best sticking it out for at least a couple more years with what you have. But hey, its your money - just thought I'd throw a few suggestions in the mix. :p

Sweet :) I have (had) a '92 Camry. 223k miles on it. Unfortunately, it was starting to die and my rents just sold it for $1,500. I'm hoping to get a Scion now!

I really have no help for you, but I thought I'd put in my .02 because you also had a 92 Camry. Good car :)

Get off his back he's got a job and wants to get rid of a 13 year old car

If you like sporty a Accord coupe would be a pretty good choice and the value package I think is in your range.
If your going to get a Sedan maybe the 2006 Sonata is also very good and from comparison tests blow out the Camry and Accord on features and the quality is very good.
Even tho a Fusion looks new and interesting you should stay away from a new model release for a yr or two til the bugs show up.
V6 Charger would be good car built on the Mercedez E type and stylin!
I don't know if thats in budget tho.

But since you're not really drving it much a smaller car might be better and its mostly city.
Focus, Cobalt ,Civic ,Corolla , Mazda 3 all pretty good cars ,Civic being the best of that bunch

For 25K.... hmmmm... I would look at the Acura TSX... Thrifty on gas, leather, xenon headlights, and good build quality. The thing I like about Acuras and Hondas to some extent is that you don't have to worry about options. For example, the TSX comes in either manual or automatic and with or without Navigation. So simple. However, I highly recommend the navigation if it fits in your budget. I wouldn't be able to live without it in my TL :)

can't go wrong with Accord. EX with leather, no navigation should be under 25K
