Need Car Audio Advice

True. I'm probably not going to be doing any dynamatting either. I don't know, I could just replace my rears (maybe with the type R). That would be the simplest solution. Then maybe down the line add a mono amp and subs. I don't know if an 8 inch will suffice.

get a sub first, anything is enough to fill, unless you want the neighborhood to know your there, but thats not sound quality😛 replace blown speaker, leave others to replace if still disatisfied

priority #1 replace blown speaker
priority #2 add sub
then deal with replacing the rears or whatever you still think needs to be done. the low end rounding out sound doesn't work so well no matter the quality of speakers in a civic, theres too much road noise and door/rear deck speakers can't be asked to do that much anyways, so a sub is needed to fill in the low range.

Well if I replace the blown rear speaker, I would think that would be it. I don't think I would replace the rears. There's no point. But taking in road noise and the inadequacy of the civics ability to insulate, I think I'm going to just replace the rear speaker and take it from there. Possibly in the future daisy chain a mono amp with the current one and power a sub that way. Thanks guys

Yeah I know, someone pointed that out earlier. So yeah, doing the DVC in parallel is a no go.

no big deal in doing a dual-coil sub in series. thats how my setup is... dvc 2ohm sub running bridged off an amp, with the other channels for front components
