I have a Samsung 226BW panel and 8800 GTS card. Could someone please explain the relationship between the OSD settings, the settings in the nVidia control panel, and the current ICC profile? Does one take precendence over the other?

I've been trying to calibrate my monitor, but it's been anything but pleasant. Is there a particular task list I should follow to get things right?
