Hi guys/gals,
I'm in the market for a new motherboard that needs to work with a few of my exisiting PC hardware parts. You can check what my rig has in my signature, but basically I need to get rid of this gigabyte k8nsnxp-939 disaster. It has given me nothing but troubles, and it's holding meback. I cannot run my RAM in dual channel mode in this board without it crapping out. It's extremely unstable, and only runs decently in single channel mode. I am also needing to get a new video card, and I imagine some RAM that will go well with the board. I am looking for a board that is non-SLI (I just dont get what SLI does , i've been out of the loop for a bit) but has PCI-express x16 or just regular AGP 8x.

My specs are amd 64 3800 939 pin, 2 sticks of 512MB Mushkin RAM (PC3200 ddr400) and two 120GB western digital SATA Hard drives. I currently have a AGP8x radeon x800xt PE.

What I''m looking to do is get rid of the motherboard (mentioned above) and RAM, and quite possibly get a new videocard. I'm looking to get the radeon 850XT series. Could you guys give me some good motherboard suggestions for 1 gig of ram in dual channel, in conjunction with my CPU and a x850 XT PE (PCI or AGP) thanks a lot.

I have used both Asus and MSI boards in the past. They are the fastest and most stable boards I have ever worked with. That would certainly be my choice.

Along those lines you could look at the K8N Neo4 Platinum line. It comes in non-sli and sli flavors. The only thing that sli can do is run two video cards in tandem on one system. You will need to get a PCI-E video card for these boards. Another board you could consider is the Asus A8N line. They come with different options as well. It just depends on what features you need and have to spend. I hope all this helps.
