Need BIOS support for a celly coppermine 128 ?

Cos i'm getting a free mobo that supports the 1.65 volts ok, just wondering if it'll run slower without BIOS support like the K6-2 does ! cheers (to assim for the free mobo and anyone for free advice !)

Btw for those that want to know the mbrd he's refering to is an Aopen AX6LC (LX chipset which goes down to 1.3v vcore! ,& yes it supports the older Celerons)

good idea about duping it in mobo, already tried in cpu and didn't get anything usefull. As for the ram just let me know when u know, i'll send u the £ (did i send u a PM about a direct bank transfer ? can't remember.....) for the ram + postage - no arguments about who pays for postage man ! BTW am working for 33 hours next week = £130 = out of debt by end of this month = 766 celly for gregg

Hopefully IAn will be in tomorow & I can get that stick of RAM finally ,he's been off sick all last week

I got the RAM off Ian but the mbrd doesn't recognise any of the sticks properly

,2 different sticks of 128Mb (1 single sided ,1 double) both get seen as 64Mb.

So what I'm going to do is pull the 64Mb stick from my bro's old PC ,put 1 of the 128's in that ,then put the 64Mb stick in the LX mbrd along with the 32Mb stick that Ian has given me.So your'll end up with 96Mb instead of 128Mb but it should still be enough for want you want.Naturally I don't expect £5 for the RAM anymore

dun b stoopid u've still had to shell out the £5, and hell i'll still be getting a free mobo w/ 96 mb ram so send me ur bank details via PM and we'll sort it Still hoping someone might know about this BIOS issue.....

There's a thread in mbrd section about LX mbrds ,I asked Old Fart (who seems to have alot of dealing with older Intel rigs) if a FCPGA would work with our mbrd ,he didn't know either ,'only 1 way to find out!' he said

yeah i've already interrogated him about it. guess its gonna be a suck it n see kinda job, as long as it doesn't blow the proc then if it don't work i'll just sell it on and i'll be at no loss. kinda like when i saw a K6-2 475 advertised with a 2.0 core and i thought hey this guy has a k6-2+ and doesn't know it, so i paid £20 for the damn thing to find it was infact just a funny k6-2 damnit
