I have a coolermaster 620 matx case, but with a full atx power supply in there, i need a motherboard with better placement of the CPU so I can fit a big Zalman CNPS 7000A HSF on it. (I have a Shuttle MN31N, but since the CPU is right on the edge, it won't fit with the Zalman)

Right now, the only thing i could find (on newegg) was the DFI AZ30-TL: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-136-131&depa=0§ion=2

So what do you guys think? I'm not gonna be doing any overclocking, and it's just gonna power PC2100 RAM & an XP 2100+

Please lmk ASAP as I plan on buying today. Any better suggestions?

I have the same problem. would like to use Zalman heatsink, but they just don't fit...

ASUS A7N266-VM/AA is further from the edge, but only nForce1 and doesn't have USB2.0... That's why I switched to nForce2 boards.

You could check at nforcershq.com forum, they have a mATX thread that lists a whole bunch of models and stats.

I have a Biostar M7VIG PRO in my tbred rig. It uses the same chipset as the DFI AZ30-TL and has been absolutely bulletproof. I run F@H on it 24/7 and also use it for movies and music occasionally. It looks like you'd get more clearance with the DFI board, however. Biostar isn't supposed to be a high end brand, but I've been happy with this board.

As far as I know ASRock is about as generic as you can get, next to PC Chips that is.

Other than that, it looks like an ok board. KM400 chipset with the Unichrome video chipset. It'll get the job done.

EDIT: I just built a system using a Chaintech board, same chipset and video as the ASRock you linked to. It works fine, but the owner will only be doing internet surfing and word processing... so no need for anything better.
