Need better cd-r.

OK, my stupid aiwa cd player seems to be very picky with the cd's that I burn. The current ones that I have tried are verbatim datalife plus, tdk certified plus, and kodak gold ultima. I am burning on a tdk 12/10/32 velocd on win2k. It works everywhere, but the aiwa is real picky about cd's that I copy, anyone have any suggestions to what would be a better choice of cd-r's? I bought like a hundred of the kodak gold ultimas thinking that it should be able to read them because of all the great things I have heard about them, I was wrong though.

I had an AIWA Discman and I couldn't get ANY CD's to work. I tried the Kodak Golds, Ricoh Golds, TDK's, and Taiyo Yudens. All my CD's work perfectly in my home stereo but never in my AIWA. The CD basically skipped every second...

But I gave my Discman away to my sister, and she said that she was able to listen to some copied music. She said the blank CD's were PNY's!?!? Kind of strange since I hear that their not of high quality...

I dont want to spend more money on cd-r's, if I'm not going to be sure if they will work or not. What do you guys think of like the true silver media? They are kind of expensive like a dollar a piece, maybe I shoud just junk the thing and buy a real system, but kinda short on cash cant afford a few grand right now. I'm only 16.

The true silver media is the only one that I didn't try on my AIWA so might as well give it a shot. People seem to say that they're the closet things to real CD's, but I don't if this is for real or if it's just perceived to be since they're both the same color.

have you tried with cdrs burned at a lower speed? :frown:

I tried burning the cd-r's at 8x. How much lower should I go?

some folk burn x2- x4 speed & claim good results for your sort of problem!
you'll just have to try to see if it helps or not!

Try Mitsui (such as Yamaha).
