My friend Kristin ("the butcher") wants to participate in a mountain bike adventure race. She wrote:

The Santa Cruz Hellride ... will be 70 something miles, a zillion feet of climbing, and what I can only assume will be lots of vomiting. Why in the world would I actually want to do something like this?
