One of my family members is highly involved with a non-profit organization known as Circle of Women. Basically, they build schools in developing countries for girls.

They will recieve $2.5 million from American Express' "Members Project" if they get enough nominations. You can use the link below to go directly to their page:

I know that you have to sign up to nominate the project, but it is a really quick sign up process and it will be for a good cause. So, if you have 2 minutes please take the time to help.

Thanks!

Not sure, but I don't believe so. Otherwise I don't think they'd be having trouble finding funding to build schools in the planned areas (including India-where my family member is going to be spearheading the project as long as they recieve the funding).

Yeh, she had built a big 'girl's only' school in South Africa

Good luck to your family member who is taking up this cause.

Ahhh, it is sort of different as Oprah did it basically by herself and just established that one school I believe. The organization in my OP is actually looking to build schools in various countries; they just got finished with a project in Afghanistan.
