Anyone have a good link or good intructions on what steps need to be taken to set up an FTP in windows XP Pro? Im wanting to play around with this but really have no idea where to start as i've never done it before.

add remove windows components.

install IIS if you drill down in IIS Pick FTP WWW if you want it.

then install it.

then under administrative tools under Internet information services is where you make changes to ftp and WWW

open it up drill down to default ftp sight , right click and click properties.

Uncheck allow anonymous or your asking for trouble.

Also note home directory tab you can change the Root dir from here.
you must create the user account the same place you creat any other account on the box under user accounts in control panel.

You can change the security lvl on the acual directory of the root where ever you make that..

How that helps get you started.

You can also use IIS to host your own webpage on your computer if you wish.
