I recently swapped out the 350 HO in my 1970 Chevy C20 long bed Custom Camper for a unknown Chevy straight six, for the life of me I cannot detrmine what size she is, 194 ci, 230 ci,250 ci.
I know for a fact it is not a 292 ci because of the deck hieght and cam spacing, I have almost evey single motors manual from that era 1964 to 1987 with engine code listings but none of them show my code which is FU. <-- No joke.
FM through FZ show either has heavy duty industrial engines for police and taxi cab service but it puzzles me because instead of the standard Mono Jet carb it has an early "B" series carb indicating that it might be a 230 CI from a mid sixties Chevvele, previous carb swap ?
Anywho, I did an extensive search on Google for Chevy six engine codes and came up with a big goose egg, I also searched Chevy BBS's to no avail, anyone here have an inkling to as what size she is ????

Why the swap? It sounds like a move down, unless the 350 was shot.

btw: looks like she's in great shape.

The truck with the camper on it has the wind resistance of a brick sh!thouse, last year when I traveled up to the Saint Lawrence seaway on vacation I got 7 M.P.G. over all, I am trying to improve my fuel consumption ;)

That is not my truck, I don't have any pics of here as of yet, that pic was yanked off of Google ;)
