Need an interesting statistic for a director project...

I have to create an animation based on an interesting statistic. Example of this would be the number of shark attacks in the 70's, 80's, 90's and present. I was thinking of using "The number of people that get killed by vending machines each year", but all I could find is an average. I can't seem to find either time periods, or different comparisons of different countries. Can anyone think of anything? Maybe even support it with a link? Thanks a lot
