Hi,

To settle an discussion with some folks, I have to post this simple question.

Please answer briefly. You will not win a prize. Just answer with what you know and nothing more. You don't have to recap everything that was said. If someone give an answer and you didn't know that, just answer what you would have if you didn't read other people answers. No need to google it all and find a nobel prize winning answer, just be honest. And please, state your country, nothing more, not your city, etc. Just the country.

What is a "lys"?

It's a term we will use in the future when we become increasingly intertwined with computers... short form of "system" = "sys"; life + sys = lys.
Or, it's lice spelled wrong.

Answer: Never heard of it, it sounds like the biochemistry term to cut. Usually used as a prefix or suffix. But I've never heard of it alone.

I am not sure what the real intent is.

The two things I think of are Lys=lysine and Lys, a region of France.
