Need an alternative for Bose Wave Radio

Fritzo

Cambridge Soundwords used to sell the Model 88, which rocked, but they discontinued it. Is there any other manufacturer that makes a high quality compact tabeltop stereo system with CD built in? I think Bose is overpriced and you're basically paying for the brand name, so I want to find an alternative.

Thanks!

Yes, I saw that, but it doesn't have a built in CD like the Model 88 did. ANyone else?

Bump for the night shift 🙂

I can't believe Bose doesn't have any competition in this field!

There isn't much demand. All the competitors have better sound for half the price. Not really something that many people demand. The only benefit is less vertical height - it doesn't even save you deskspace since it is so wide and deep.

Heck even a $300 sterio and a $50 walkman would give you the sound quality when you need it and portability when you need to walk around. You'll save $250 doing that.

You've obviously never heard one of these Wave radios. And yes, there is demand for these things. It's Bose's #1 selling product right now.
