I really don't trust the hardware monitor on my motherboard. Is there anything 3rd party out there I can use to accurately gauge my CPU temps??

Thanks

Any third party software is going to read from the same sensors as well, and should give you similar readings. You can buy external temperature sensors that you can where you want to measure the temps, but they ofter read a bit low because it is difficult to get them close enough to the inside of the processor for accurate readings. I would just recommend comparing your temperatures to those of other who have the same mobo. Sensors are usually pretty consistant between boards.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at (something external). I'll look around like you said (for similar comparisons on boards. Thanks. :)

i was thinking of buying an external temp sensor, do you know how much they run for? nothing fancy, just something that will simply take the temp

Bestbyte has 2 sensors at the bottom of this page. Link I have never used either, but I have heard a lot about Compunurse. The DigiDoc might be an option if you are looking to spend more. I think SVC carries it.
