I recently built my system with an A8v and a SATA 250gb WD drive. I plugged the drive into the main (sata channel 0) connector and during xp install, i hit f6 and used this driver:
VIA VT6420 (VT8237) SATA RAID Driver Package Version 2.20D WHQL.

Great! it picked up the disk and I installed windows. now whenever I run a big installer file, while it is unzipping contents or installing, I will get a data curruption error or CRC invaid error. I cannot complete 3dmark03 because at some point during the test, I will get the error.

Here are my current drivers setup in XP, is this a raid-driver conflict with a non raid'd drive?

http://www.orangek.com/xpdriver.jpg <- I cannot update drivers and install anything off of my Asus CD, windows says it cannot find anything better than whats currently installed

http://orangek.com/xpdriver2.jpg <- this is also in my device manager, but I don't use raid??? should it not be there?

Any ideas? Did I use the wrong driver during xp install? SHouldnt' I still be able to change that if I did?
If you help me, I would buy you a beer (or 5) if you were here. :) thanks in advance..
