I just got a couple of Samsung SATA 160 GB drives that I put on a RAID 0 array. Then I wanted to perform a long overdue fresh install of XP but of course nothing can be that easy. I don't remeber when was the last time I used my floppy, but I know I used it before. The deal is that the floppy is now dead, I actually tried with a couple of different drives with the same result. I'm assuming that the onboard floppy controler is dead.

The question is: what is the easiest way of adding the SATA drivers to the XP CD??? All your help is appreciated

Here's an idea. Go to www.bootdisk.com and download an image for a windows 98 boot disk. Then you take that .img file or whatever kind of image file it is and you use a program like nero to create a bootable CD using the image file you downloaded. Then you just add your driver files to the cd and you are set.

I think you need to have the full version of nero to do this which you can download a 30 day trial. The express version will only read an image from a floppy. The full version let's you choose the bootable image you want to burn.

Good luck.

Thanks for yor help guys. I did it, it took some time but it finally worked. I still think M$ should make it easier and not rely on floppys alone.
