Not sure how im taking this, am I in shock or what?

My girlfriend told me, about 1 hour ago, that she had a miscarriage on thursday and she just drummed up the courage to tell me tonight. I am not mad at her, im feeling rather emotion-less right now or something. Am I in shock or just perhaps it doesn't bother me, or what?

Edit: She is rather distraught about it and she wasn't hiding anything from me I don't think.

Honest opinion and advice welcome.

Thanks.

Did she tell you how along she was, or did you notice that she hadn't had her period in a while? Are you ready for kids, because it seems like she is, but doesn't think that you are perhaps if she didn't tell you she might be pregnant.

Either way that sucks.

advice = talk to her about it...she might be in a very awkward state of mind right now.

opinion = kinda odd how she didn't tell you about it...

It wasn't for very long and she was on birth control. Ironically, we had talked about having children but she did not stop taking it.

We did talk for a bit, i'm feeling oddly more emotion-less than usual about it.
I wondered too, I have a feeling she was in shock or something.

Keep in mind that this was most likely very, very devastating for her.

It's forthright in my mind, just unsure of what to feel really, is that weird?

No its not strange to feel emotionless at the onset of a difficult situation like this.

Sometimes the less words being said the better. Of course just let her know you are by her side and there for her.

I was thinking the same thing. There are times when words fail even the best of us, and the only thing you can do is just be there. Knowing that she has a shoulder to lean on and someone to talk to may be the most important thing.

No problem. While I can't really say that I know what you're going through, I do know the feeling. a good, long-time friend of mine was shot and killed a number of years ago, and I felt the same way for quite a while. Just kinda...blank, for lack of a better way to put it.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this but could this be a lie and she really got an abortion? Obviously you're both going through a very tough time regardless, but I think this isn't out of the realm of possibility. Unless of course you've spoken to her doctor.

Either way, I can't imagine what you're going through. Best of luck to you.
