I have been a sysadmin for the last 5 years. I have worked for the Government and Private Secotr, and I currently am one of the senior engineers for the 2nd largest Cellular company in the country. I have worked in heterogeneous environments from the beginning, and therfore I am very proficient in *NIX, NT, NetWare, etc. For the longest time I spent most of my free time harnessing my tech skills. I run about 10 - 15 systems at home, and I have a unique OS on each. I typically simulate all kinds of network designs at my house, and expolore them from an Information Technology Administrator's view. I am starting to run out of creative things to do with my home equipment. I am getting kinda bored with Network Admin level stuff.
I would like some advice, and perhaps personal experience feedback, on where to go next. Should I explore Application Development ? If so...what languages are the most exciting to learn ?
What about graphic design ? What about audio ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
