ok, the cost is no problem, i have ~200 bucks and alot of sdram to sell off i need be. im trying to decide between the i820 motherboard and an Abit 440BX 133-RAID. the only real difference is RIMM vs DIMM. the board comes with a 128meg chip and i can always sell off my 192megs of dimms to get another 128 chip. i just dont know what to do.....i am extremely literate w/computers and feel free to talk tech with me. just need advice. and i dont want any posts about amd....amd sux it has no support and it locks up every so often for no reason at all.

Just curious what are you wanting to do with a new box??? Game??? or what??? The 820 from what all I have read was a flop its memory controller as I understand it did not work properly with the awesome ram it was intended for... Even the VIA board out performs them I think??? The BX boards have the best performance but not by much over the new 815`s. If your going to OC then there are a lot of considerations and in reality its luck of the draw unless you get a pretested setup... But if your set between the two boards you have mentioned... I would be more in favor of the BX 133-Raid system Just my .02

820s eat it.
The new RAM speeds come out to be slower then pc133 performance wise from what ive read.
