Need advice re: a photoshop rig

I have almost everything I need here for my dad's new CS2 rig, but I would like to know what a good 2x 1gb set of memory sticks would be to put in there as well as a rock solid mobo (don't need OC really) and a video card. Also I am giving him my scsi hard drive so I need a controller card. The drive is a Seagate Cheetah IV 15.4 drive, 80pin I believe. Thanks for any help.

What CPU will you use, this has a great bearing on which mobo to go for as well as RAM.

As far as SCSI do you need RAID and be aware that most controllers are 68pin and need an adapter to use an 80pin drive (which I believe are more often used in servers.)

A lot of higher performance SCSI cards use PCI-X rather than PCI or PCIe which would again alter the mobo choice.

The CPU is an opteron 165.

EDIT: Wasn't planning on RAID.
