hey guys!

I've been looking around various post with new systems. I've been trying to figure out what is a decent video card to get and the 6800GS looks good but it's in pci-e? or the X800GT? but that was also in pci-e. (My agp looks outdated)

My old geforce2 gts died. I'm in need of a new video card and I'd like your opinion on one.

Whatever I get will probably play all the games I have been playing (wc3, d2, cs, bw). Although I haven't started playing hl3, wow2,doom4 and such I may start playing them in the future.

What is a good card and a good price (i have no idea what is high end and at what price)? Needs DVI also. (will be using LCD in the near future)
About $150 would be nice though.

Should i just get a cheap-o $50 MX or Radeon 92xx and maybe upgrade later?
Is my AGP 8x slot going to be obsolete (sp) ?

Here's what i remember about my system
WinXP
512mb cvs ddr400
160gb seagate p-ata 7200rpm (i like the small sata cable... is it expensiver/slower?)
chaintech VNF-250? something like that (the one with the 800mhz bus not 1ghz)
A64 2800+
sblive (yeah it's old ... are the new sound cards cheap now? ~30$? if so i'll upgrade)
i think that's it ... nec3500A/3540A, ati wintv,

I was thinking about getting more of this cvs ram ... but i hear it's not good to oc by bumping down the memory speed... so if it cost just $10-15 more for oc'able ram i'm for it ...

my system seems kinda slow so i hope it's either the lack of ram or the dying video card.

Thanks for you opinions/advice!!!!

Just grab a GeForce 6600GT, and you can run a divider on your RAM when you OC. It'll be fine.

oh... i didn't know the 6800nu was under 200... i'll probably go with the 6600gt

I wished the gs came in agp ... but the 200$ one i saw posted was pcix ... haven't seen one that is agp yet ..

Thanks for the replies guys!
none of the radeons are cheap that compare to the 6600gt?
