Rosewill FORTRESS Series FORTRESS-750 750W Continuous@50°C,80 PLUS Platinum Certified,Single +12V Rail,ATX12V v2.31/EPS12V ...
$119 after $60 Instant Rebate
Would this be a solid PSU for the build in my sig? I am trying to solve a screen glitch issue and this is the first thing I am replacing. I am also looking to run SLI 670's eventually.
----
ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
$169.99 after $22 Instant Rebate
I know this isn't much of an upgrade over my other board, but I am going to use my current board for an HTPC build I'm working on or if I find the board to be the problem, I have an RMA already issued by ASRock so I'd do that and buy a microATX ASUS board for the HTPC.
----
G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11Q-16GBZL
$85 after $15 Instant Rebate
Going from 8GB to 16GB can't hurt anything. Will I notice a significant boost in performance from going 1600 to 2133mhz? Or mainly will I just notice the boost from doubling the ram?

Any other recommendations for a future proof upgrade? With neweggs Iron Egg Guarantee, I'm not waiting around to buy - looking to do something tomorrow. PS - Should I upgrade my i5 2500k also? If so, to what?

Thanks for reading.

PS - This should probably go in General Hardware/Computer Help

JG did give it a good review so I think it is a solid unit if you don't mind the fact that it isn't modular/semi modular. You will not notice much in performance gain. It will only stand out in benchmarks. Doubling of the RAM capacity won't significantly increase your performance either.

Red colored RAMs with a blue board, not exactly aesthetically pleasing I must say. You could get these instead. It is "slower" but you could potentially get the same results by overclocking it.

its black and red, heh. and yeah i want modular but this seemed like a hotdeal, tho nobody in hotdeals thinks so yet except me... :'(

meh im in for one, we'll see if that alone fixes my issue. I can always use it for a watercooled system which I am planning. I'll hold off on the ram though I think. I wonder when we'll see 3-3-3-9 memory again... i always wanted to try some of that really low timing stuff out.

Except there's no such thing as an OCZ Fortress. The Fortress is Rosewill and while a decent choice isn't even in the same league as the Seasonic. Are you seriously going with the Fortress when the Seasonic is CHEAPER?

Also, how "eventually" are we talking for SLI 670s? Because if "eventually" isn't "before the end of this year," believe me when I say you will never run SLI 670s (because it would make more sense to simply get a single next gen card that is stronger then.) SLI/Xfire usually happens when you do that from the getgo. Most people who think they will do it "somewhere down the line" rarely do.

Ahh you're right, it was late when I posted.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but Platinum > Gold & while I might save $30 to go with the Seasonic, does the continuous@50ºC help?

And yes, I plan on doing SLI within the next few weeks.

Platinum is NOT that much better than Gold and they both have 50C continuous. You're looking at a couple of pennies a year .

Don't get me wrong, I probably would've bought the Seasonic if I hadn't already purchased the Rosewill but I don't see anywhere that says the Seasonic is 50º continuous.
