here are my questions:

have you guys seen those $200 dazzle kits that will convert vhs to dvd? are they any good?

Soundcard: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum Ex - I would be able to hook my HOME theatre speakers up to this as WELL AS my pc speakers correct? also what does it mean when they say "optical" channel?

Speakers: i am also looking at the klipsch promedia 2.1 i already have a home theatre i just need something decent at the three piece level for a bit of counterstrike, everquest, medal of honor, etc

Motherboard: ok, im going pentium...dont talk me out of it ive decided that i just can no longer ignore a 533 FSB and something over 2.2 ghz. so now that thats said, whats the best pentium board that will support 533FSB? i want something very solid and stable

Processor: I'm looking at either the 2.53 or the 2.4ghz p4

Memory: pc3200 crucial 1GB.

On a side note I will be doing everything multimedia with this computer such as vhs to DVD, gaming, hooking my home theatre up and im building a projector so i can get a 7 foot image on my projection screen. what do you guys think?

check www.dvdrhelp.com for reviews. Another possible choice is the Leadtek Winfast TV card fro $55 from newegg.com, there is a 500-post thread on it in Hot Deals forum.

Yes.

Both optical digital and coax digital send a digital signal to a home theater reciever that has optical or coax in, it's the same kind of multi-channel connection that a DVD player uses. Most newer recievers have at least 2 digital in, so you can connect both DVD and PC.

This will let you use surround speakers for playing DVDs on a PC, but I think most games will just be stereo through this connection.
