hi i have a relatively new rig....(new to me) this is the main part

P4 2.4Ghz with a 400mhz FSB......(not sure if its a willamete (spelt?) or a northwood or watever)
768mb of PC800 RDRAM (which i like)
and to cool the CPU my friend put in his Thermaltake subzero 4G thermo-electric cooling thing, with the external power supply! as he now has a AMD 64 3200 setup are peltier coolers good for O/Cing?

the mobo is a gigabyte P4 titan series (GA-8ITXE) basically the multipliers on the board go from 8 to 24 times, so on the multiplier front i am stuck (24x100 = 2400mhz......this right the P4 has a 100mhz bus that is quad-pumped or sumthing?)

so i am left with the FSB and Ram speeds, RDRAM is supposed to be very scalable

is it worth overclocking and if so how should i go bout doing it?

the willamettes aren't very overclockable from what i understand.

you can try to up your fsb but that's the best you can do.

all intel chips (except engineering samples) are locked...

your ram should be fine as well for o/cing

i think even with subzero temps, you should be able to overclock some but not to the extent of the northwood 2.4C's (which can hit 3.6+).
