Need advice on new monitor.

Hello,

My good old CRT seems to be going, (lately began to flicker colors and have different "hazes" over everything on screen, like everything tinted blue or whatnot) so I probably have to replace it. I know next to nothing about LCDs but what I have learned from research so far is that if your primary use for the PC is gaming, then you need 2ms response time.

My primary use for the monitor is gaming and web browsing. I don't watch movies on my computer. I also dont want anything outlandishly large because I dont want to mess up my eyesight. I am looking for a good brand, and so far have been leaning towards Samsung, since I've never had trouble with their products.

One last thing, I need something I can find in store, so a Dell would fall out of the question because I cant have anything delivered (since I am barely home ATM). I have looked around and have been aiming at this monitor,

Edit: My budget is in between $200-300
So I want to know what you guys here think, your experiences and any recommendations.

I also like Samsung monitors, had good luck with them and they have a nicer picture than most others. Can you have your monitor delivered at work or something? Or look for sales at the local Best Buy's and the like.

If you have the desk space, why not go for a 27" unit? It won't hurt your eyes at all, and because almost all monitors are 16:9 now, a 24" for example is not that big a screen.

edit - if you want to step up to an IPS monitor, the Dell UltraSharp U2311H is a nice unit. (this forum will not allow a link to Dell for some reason). Stupid.

I am not sure what is meant by 16:9, but I guess I will be able to get an idea when I see it in store. I cant order to get it shipped to work because I dont trust it not to be stolen or misplaced...lots of people. My main concern is something that will work well for games...
