Need advice on movie projectors

I'm thinking of getting a projector for watching movies, and maybe some games.

I was gonna go for a XGA projector, but they turn out to cost twice as much as a $1000 SVGA projector.

The ones I've considered are

Epson S1

Viewsonic PJ500

Infocus X1

They're all around $1000, Epson and Viewsonic uses LCD, and X1 is DLP. What affect does the contrast ratio has on movies? I was leaning towards the PJ500, but it only has a contrast ratio of 300:1, Epson has 400:1 and X1 has 2000:1.

I definitely want to avoid being able to see pixels when watching movies.

The Viewsonic has a 0.7" lens, the Epson has a 0.5" poly silicon lens, I can't find out whether the Viewsonic has polysilion or not.

The Viewsonic has a Wisper Mode operation for "extended lamp life and low noise output", what exactly does that mode do?

Will the image quality suffer much if I play games at XGA resolution? I know it makes text blurry, but how does it affect game images?

So, which one should I use? I'm unable to look at the images of the projectors, so I might be a bit worry about the rainbow effect of the DLP, though I've heard some good things about the X1.

Any other projectors in this price range can be consider as well, or some XGA projector that costs slightly higher.

Another very important thing, is that I will not be using these in the US, so they'll need to handle 240v power, am I able to just get an adaptor and plug these projectors in without blowing them up?

On the site, the Viewsonic says 100-120 VAC / 220-240 VAC
X1: Power Supply: 100V?240V at 50-60 Hz
Epson: Power Supply Voltage: 100 to 120V +/-10%, 50/60hz AC
