Need advice on mini DV camcorder

Can anyone out there give me some good advice on what is the best mini DV camcorder for under 1000 bucks. also any recs or comments on vid capture software will be appreciated. Does anyone know what is the quality of the Panasonic PV DV 701, 600, and the Pinnacle studio 6 vid cap software. Thanks very much.

As far as vid cap goes, if it's over done via firewire all firewire cards will give you the same quality video (since using firewire is more like a digital file transfer, then a video capture). All you have to do is make sure the firewire card you buy works w/the software you want to use. And since most/many firewire cards come bundled w/software you really don't have much to worry about.
