I am building my first computer And I am looking at some options of memory.I have a msi k8n neo plat. whith a amd 3400 754 chip.I know that it calls for pc3200 ddr 400 but I can get pc 3500 or pc 4000 for a really decent price. They are both matched sets and I know that the 754 will read single channel. If I go with the higher pc ram ,will I slow the computer down .I don't think I am going to overclock the computer as of now(maybe later)
Thanx

Hi there... well, if I were you I would stick to the pc3200 unless you are overclocking. If you can get the pc4000 for a similar price, go for it. That waif you ever decide to OC, you will have some memory that will allow you to do so at length. g/l

how about a link to both types of ram? then you'll get an opinion or two on which to go with based on your mobo. g/l 🙂

Use the "reply" not "quick reply", and use the http button to make a link. And no, using faster ram will not slow you down if you match the cpu speed and ram speed. The faster rated ram may allow you run faster timings when running at the slower speed.
