Need advice on EULA

I"m trying to decide whether to go with Business Upgrade or the full retail version.

I've looked at the EULA and am still confused.

I need two copies. My system is new about 12 months ago. I built it with Vista in mind. For my wife's system, although it's adequate, I've decided to put a new system together for her.

Realistically, both of these should carry us well into the future. I am of course trying to save some coin and not go with two full retail versions if I don't have to.

The question is, can I reinstall Vista Business Upgrade as many times as needed due to hardware failure, upgrades etc. as long as that copy exists on only one computer at a time? My interpretation of the EULA indicates this. But I may have overlooked something.

Or do I need to purchase the full retail version?

Don't misunderstand my post, I'm talking two computers and two copies. Where I refer to a single copy it's just for clarity.

Yes, there's no restriction on the number of times that you can reinstall any version of Vista AFAIK.
Isn't an OEM version tied to the hardware present at initial installation?

My understanding was that if I wanted to upgrade my mobo/processor I could not with an OEM version.

Hence my questions regarding Business. My question is a reinstall with new hardware due to hardware failures or even upgrading. Maybe I've not made myself clear? 😕

Motherboard hardware failure is a special case that's allowed. Although to stick to the letter of the license you need to replace the failed board with the same model or whatever was given to you as warranty replacement. You'll likely have no technical problems reactivating Vista after a motherboard upgrade but whether that's ok is a moral decision that you'll have to make. Upgrading anything else is allowed AFAIK although you may have to reactivate if you change too much.
