Need advice on DVD .vob to .avi/.mpg converter!!!!

I've been trying several apps to get this sh!t to work, but the best I've got is about 2 mins into the movie and it just stopped writing video, but kept on writing the damn sound. This was using TMPGEnc. I have the vob and inf files for the disk I want to copy out in the garage.

Can someone recommend to me a nice app for doing this, or maybe a fix for tmpgenc?

I did the same thing last night for the first time. After some reading I tried SmartRipper, FlaskMPEG and Divx5 bundle and got pretty nice results. Didn't understand half of the settings but I'm getting there. This was my source.

try dvdx search on google,
th best dvd-avi/divX out right now, very easy to use...and MUCH faster than dvd2avi..
get it...!
