need advice on broken fan

okay i have a msi r7950 card a twin frozr III. I was redesigning my bit coin setup and stuck my finger into a moving fan.

fff'ing hurt blood etc. but even worse i kocked off 3 of the blades. amazing that the thing will spin without vibration up to 2000 rpm. well this cripples the card for the most part. so I went to msi site they do not have a replacement fan. so I am willing to go aftermarket. my msi has the 8 pin 6 pin and is a 7970 board.

So what can i use aftermarket? better yet where can I get a oem replacement.

Have you considered just buying an individual replacement fan off eBay and using it in your existing cooler? That would be cheapest. Just try to get the numbers off the existing fans to use as a search term.

Otherwise, I think Accelero or other vendors sell aftermarket coolers.

I did something like that. I moved the card into a case that has a lot of room and attached 2 noctua fans.

I also fully removed the two oem fans.

downside no pwm speed control.

just one speed. it uses the psu for 12v one speed only.

but it is dead quiet and allows the card to run 24/7 for bitcoin with no noise at 65c

99% and it works well so far.. also I had the fans on hand so no cost.

You can do the Antec 620 mod for around 60$ if u buy a used antec 620 or find one on sale.. then u have complete silence..

I recently modded my GPU cooler by replacing its dual PWM fans with one PWM 120 mmm case fan. Do you have any big fans that have PWM? It's trivial to wire the connectors/adapters together, if you have the parts laying around. Otherwise, you could spend a couple bucks on an adapter that's pre-wired for you:

You can also do dual 120mm PWM fans, but I'd suggest tapping into some auxiliary power for that purpose. I almost did this, but found that a single 120 mm fan was enough to keep things cool while receiving all its power directly from the video card without needing aux power. But, here's the adapter that would let you power two 120 mm PWM case fans using auxiliary power, while letting the video card control the fan speeds using the video card's PWM signal (note, you'd need to use the adapter above to get the PWM signal from the video card to the adapter below):
