I'm looking to buy a decent sound setup, you know, 2 speakers and a sub. It doesn't have to be some great surround sound system and i don't wanna spend too much. Can anyone point me in a direction? thanks

What about the Videologic Sirocco. I have the DigiTheatre and have been happy with it.

I'll second the vote on any Cambridge Soundworks speakers. You can get two small satellites and a sub (PC Works) for 36 bucks at Buy.com and they have free shipping up til the 4th. It's the same speakers as their 4 point surround 1st generation (FPS1000) minus the rear speakers. I've used both the FPS100 and I now have the FPS2000 (digital), and I loved both of them.

Yeah the free shipping will apply, the only items it doesn't apply to are monitors, printers, and complete systems (and maybe a few select items). That's why you gotta love buy.com. :)

I use a standard, small stereo amp from Radio Shack . . . about $30. Then I got a set of KLH speakers with sub-woofer from Costco for $75. Hooked it up to my sound card and it rivals a Bose system for sound quality.

I find that whenever things are gray or beige, and sold in computer stores, you get much less for your money. For good sound use real sound equipment. A used Advent system is better than anything sold for computer use, and costs less.

Good sound equipment has been around a couple of decades longer than computer sound stuff.

If you really want a soundgasm, connect up to a set of big outdoor bins. :)
