Need Advice On A Case

The reason I am getting a new case is, I have a 12x plextor burner and a 40x/10x pioneer DVD and the DVD only reads at 4x. So I can burn 3 times as fast as I can read. Would anyone know why my DVD, that should read CDs at 40x, reads only at 4x? If I could up the read speed on the DVD player, then I wouldn't have to get a new case that has another 5.25 bay to fit a CD-ROM drive. I love my current case and it has all of the following options I am looking for below, but it doesn't have 4 - 5.25" bays.

These are the things I have to have on the case:

1. MAIN THING : At Least 4 - 5.25" bays
2. 300 watt, ATX
3. 2 case fans: intake & exhaust
4. Filter for the intake fan to keep dust out (my case has one right now and it keeps a lot of dust out)

These are the things I would really prefer on the case:

1. Detachable Motherboard Tray
2. Detachable 3.5" bays
3. Thumb Screws

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks 🙂

www.chipmerchant.com get the apex full tower $62 + shipping Gets you 300w psu Detachable mobo tray Not sure about the mounting of fans but I think it hass an intake and and xhaust 6 ,5 1/4 bays and some more its the one I ordered

You might also consider an Enlight 7237. It has four 5.25" bays, comes with one 80mm ball-bearing Sunon case fan, has room for a second one, and is available with a 300W power supply. It also has two exposed 3.5" bays, which is good if you happen to use a Zip drive in addition to a floppy, and is not too big, although pretty deep from front to back. I got a 7237 with an Enermax 350W PSU from Russ at CompuCheap, or you could also get it with the stock 300W PSU option at mwave.com. A nice case for those who don't really need a full tower per se. If you need a second case fan, you can get one almost anywhere, but for filters, you could either make your own, perhaps from an automotive air filter (think of the CFM those are designed for!), or else hit 2cooltek, Plycon, or Millisec for pre-made filters.

Sorry I don't have any help for you on your CD-reading problem : (

check out a-pro
they have a lot of pictures, inside and out--reasonable prices too

some good cases:
HX08
KS188

they may be the same case with different front bezels
the Antec sells for ~$110 w/300W PS at CompUSA

just buy your filters somewhere else, like mechbgon said

Here's another vote for the Enlight 7237. Sure, you can spend a lot more on a case but the Enlight gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

Look in my signature on the bottom for the link to an Antec Sx1030 for $83 w/ free shippin when you register.

enlight 7237

make sure they dont ship you the older revision. it has a one-piece cover and only an 80mm fan in front and none in back.

the newest revision to this case features easy side slideable 3 piece cover and a 80mm in front and one in back.

i got mine for 65 with a 300w power supply so they are pretty damn cheap.

axiontech i dont know what they charge now cause i bought a while back

My vote is for Addtronics.

It has more then 4 5.25 bays , 300 watt , 5 case fans the 2 intake fans are filtered.

The mobo tray is removable, it has a removable HDD tray. So out of everything you want it has BUT, it doesn't have thumb screws.

6 out of 7 ain't bad. 🙂

I vote for the InWinQ500, and for a few reasons. Easily moded, no filters but who the heck wants filters when they restrict airflow? Cost, got mine for $79 locally. Drive bays, 11 total. Construction, built like a tank. Exhaust, a fan mount behind the mobo which alot of cases don't have. This is just a few of a long list. JMHO.
