need advice I7 or amd's

im finally updateing to a new computer im a gamer but i'm looking at about 900 bucks i would like a i7 fourth gen quad core 3.6 ghz 16 gig ram i don't know about the amd chips is there any out there that are jusy as good or can anybody give me advice on what to look for? i like shooters, skyrim,
farcry. and flying also. i was lookig at an asus m51ac but the only drawback is the vid card nividia gtx 640. any suggestions can help thanks! :D

Ever think about building one? You could get exactly what you want. A lot, or course, would depend on what you have access to at your location.

yea i thought about building one myself but i see what they got at tiger direct an the cheapest one is 1200 dollars and really bare boned we have a couple of computer stores here and bestbuy i'll check out my options. but i think these computer stores are a little high from the last time i looked.

As you have noticed, the problem you will run into with buying prebuilt is the video card. Some people buy a fast pc for a great price, and then add a faster video card and better power supply. Usually takes a little tweaking with UEFI, but should still be very possible.

I bought a refurbished i7 compatible motherboard and that was over 3 years ago for around $75 and it is still super fast as hell. I got it at some mom and pop pc store.

total grand price for this speed monster after putting all the parts together was under $900 . Because I did not buy the best CPU means its still very upgradable to the latest 4th gen i7 cpu.
