Need advice (GPU upgrade)

I'm planning on buying a GTX270 either next month or in January '09, but so far the only thing I've read that is official in terms of what's different between that refresh and the current GTX260 is that it'll be 55nm, that it will consume about 50% less power and will over-clock like mad.

Now, the thing is I don't care much about over-clocking GPU's (I do it but I could certainly live without it, I prefer OC'ing the Memory and CPU instead), and the power consumption is alright as it is currently especially if no OC'ing is implied. And I wouldn't want to spend maybe $60 or $70 extra just because of the refresh when compared to the current GTX260 just because it consumes less power.

So is there anything else in terms of hardware changes that justifies upgrading to a GTX270 instead of a GTX260? And what about the price? If the GTX260's price goes down due to the 270's release by say... even just 10%, but more likely to be something along the lines of 20%, then that's one more reason not to buy a 270 and instead get a 260.

Here's some rumor info. There should be no DX10.1 if that's what your expecting.

First lets start with the GT206.
This boring 55nm refresh of the GT200 should be announced some time soon, most likely November as all partners already have the chip. It is not much more than a die shrink and will be replacing the GTX260. Obviously it will be clocked higher than the current cards as the shrink will allow for this but if they add anything else to this refresh, I would be incredibly surprised. The card should have a slight increase in performance over the current GTX260. They are also trying to push the card out before Christmas 2008 to cash in on the rush although my source and I both believe that the card will hit some time in 2009, most likely around February

Ah, I see, well thanks. I didn't know about it being under NDA still, I'm barely following news about GPU's, hence why I made this thread and asked. I will be waiting until late this month then, and if nothing new happens I'll just get a 260, price reduction or not.
