Need advice from Oregon and maybe Washington natives.

My birthday is May 18th and my lady has hers on the 30th.
Sometime in between then I want to take her to a nice place on the coast near Florence (preferably right on the beach). Yes this is short notice, for her and for you guys. Have been wanting this for a while and I think the time around our B-days is a nice idea.
Amazingly enough none of the travel agents here have info on the local vacation spots. They have info and packages for expensive, far-off, exotic trips.

I found the following two places and wanted to hear some opinions on them or perhaps some better suggestions from folks who have been around the coast.
Both are in or near Heceta Beach.

I like the Shore Pine Cottage in the 2nd link the best.
But I would really love something right on the beach, if available.
Does anybody have personal experience with stuff in the area?
What about places further up and down the coast from Florence?
I thought about going all the way up to Astoria but thats too long a drive. We want someplace close enough to make the road trip pleasant, but far enough to get away from her kids and my job. I work odd hours so I can probably get up to these places mid-week (which I think would be better). She can make it any time provided I give a little advance notice.

Opinions? Criticisms? (On the places, not on me.)

Killer little house RIGHT on the beach. Just south of Lincoln City. We were there a month ago and it was fantastic. Private. Perfect.

edit - at high tide, the ocean is less than 100 feet away. AMAZING!

edit 2- Then drive down to Newport and check out the aquarium and eat at Sharon's on D'Bay down at the historic bayfront. Best food on the planet!

Eat at Mo's while you're at it. Clam chowder is pretty good (maybe not the best like they say, but pretty good!).

funny I actually been to Florence. Very far from Portland I remember.

My impressions was its a very nice place, I remember the sand dunes. I would recommend it because it seemed more calm than the other places like Cannon Beach, Seaside, ect.

Thanks for the replies. That Solitude house in Gleneden beach looks good.
We can drive west for an hour, then take a nice slow drive up the coast and hit Lincoln City. Cannon Beach is a little too far up, may as well go all the way to Astoria if we're gonna do that. Nice hotels though.

So I guess now the only thing to do is fill up a cooler with lobster tails and steaks.
My sweetie said she would bring the olive oil and whipped cream.
PICs for all you horny bastards when we get back!
